Your Central Florida Yard Monthly Checklist:
Your Lawn in November
Not all brown spots are created equal.
Watch your lawn for signs of fungal disease. Large patch and brown patch are common now and it's important to diagnose them properly.
Proper care is key to a healthy lawn!
Mow your lawn to the recommended height, water 1/2 in per application, follow fertilizer and pesticide recommendations.
Your Landscape in November
Water your plants only when needed.
As the weather cools, plants require much less water.
Divide perennials, plant shrubs and trees now.
This gives them a chance to establish before cool weather hits.
Plant cool season annuals such as pansies, viola, snapdragon and alyssum.
What’s blooming now?
Check out the November blooms in the UF/IFAS Extension Polk County Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ Demonstration Garden in Bartow.

Clockwise from top left: blazing star (Liatris spp.), pentas (Pentas lanceolata), snow squarestem (Melanthera nivea), and Starry rosinweed (Silphium asteriscus).
